Erica Hernández is currently a fellow where she collaborates with senior leadership across various departments to research cost-reducing and lean methodologies to implement new hospital ventures. She works with leadership to determine how to increase financial performance by ultimately doing what is best for patient care. Erica is an advocate for community outreach and is involved in various events both in the Downriver and Detroit communities. She has represented HFWH in the healthcare expos and volunteers for the global health symposium.
Erica has previously worked for a professional services firm as a consultant for healthcare projects across the nation. She enjoys traveling and discovering new ways that better our world’s health care. Her educational background includes a Bachelor’s in Business Administration from the University of Michigan and has an aspiration to pursue a Master’s in Public Policy and Public Health. She is driven to help make quality care accessible and affordable for all despite anyone’s socioeconomic background. In her journey, she wants to be in the midst of solving the biggest challenges of health care, including finding the cure for cancer.
In her spare time, Erica is a council member for her parish and enjoys time with her loved ones. To better understand diverse perspectives, she loves traveling to learn about different cultures and reading books.
