The VIE (very important environment) project uses the principles of color and aroma therapy as well as feng shui to transform hospital patient rooms into a more holistic healing environment.
The VIE therapeutic cabinet, designed to sit in a corner of the room, features a curved front to create a rounded corner. This feature addresses the feng shui issue of corners trapping bad energy. The cabinet is made of rich wood and has five semi-opaque windows to emit a soothing light that can be controlled by the patient according to mood. The patient may select from a variety of scents that the cabinet produces to benefit from the healing qualities of aroma therapy. Studies have shown that a more relaxing environment promotes quicker recoveries. The VIE therapeutic cabinet was designed by Kaitlyn Hamilton from the College for Creative Studies.
